Guest Headliner: The Illusionist at the Palace Theater, Magician Kevin Blake of The Palace Theater has invited Christian to take over as the guest headliner for the night. Two 45 minute(ish) acts in a literal underground speakeasy at the edges of North Beach and Chinatown in the heart of the Barbary Coast. Have a few drinks, share a few laughs, but don't worry... things will get spooky by the end...

"One of the Bay Area's artistic treasures."
– SF Chronicle

U.S. born son of Salvadoran and Spanish immigrants, Christian Cagigal splits his time between New York City and San Francisco: Magician at Speakeasy Magick in New York City, Co-Producer for Odd Salon NYC, and Owner of the San Francisco Ghost Hunt.

Cagigal has twice been named a Finalist for the Theatre Bay Area Award for Best Solo Performer, recipient of a Mastermind Award by the SF Weekly, and five-time winner of the Best Magician of the Bay Award by the San Francisco Bay Guardian.

His shows include, the popular The Pandora Experiment, the long-running OBSCURA, the secretive happenings of The Collection, and the critically acclaimed Now and at the Hour which has been seen in New York, Montréal, Chicago, New Orleans, Minneapolis and San Francisco – all shows originally produced by The EXIT Theatre.

Christian has consulted for Aurora Theatre Company, Shotgun Players, Crowded Fire Theatre Company, EXIT Theatre, Wilderness, and Tilted Frame.

More recently, Christian magic-consulted for the original production of This Much I Know, written by Jonathan Spector at Aurora Theater Company in Berkeley, California; was the Associate Illusion Designer for the Obie Award winning, Pulitzer Prize winning, and five time Tony nominee Fat Ham written by James Ijames at The Public Theater in 2022 and on Broadway at the American Airlines Theater (now the Todd Haimes Theater) in 2023.

As an actor Cagigal's work spans from musical theater with 42nd Street Moon to political satire with the San Francisco Mime Troupe, and he can be seen in the independent, power-pop, musical film, Fruit Fly written and directed by H.P. Mendoza.

Theatrical + Magic

"Cagigal seems to be forever playing with and between the notions that all magic is imaginary, that it truly lives within our intuitive capabilities or that he’s making our imaginations the fertile fields of his illusions."
